|
Regional Qualifying was eliminated in 2005. Entry into the BC Junior will
be based on performance in the Zone Junior Championship. Each Zone has been
allotted a number of spots based on entries in the past three years and the
number of players from each Zone who made the cut in those years. There will
be exemptions based on performance in 2006 tournaments, for example the top
10 and ties from the BC Jr, top 5 and ties from the BC Juvenile, winner of
BC Bantam, Medallist from the BC Highschool AAA and the AA. Over and above that
Zone 4 has been tentatively allocated the top 27 players

Slow Play
|
Please review the effects of a couple of slow foursomes and the impact
on the rest of the field. We want everyone to be able to finish their
rounds in daylight so it is imperative that every player work at keeping up
with the group ahead of them. The following list illustrates the effect
of slow play:

The Vancouver & District Junior Championship has been sponsored by the
Jason Auramenko Memorial Golf Fund since 1995. |
In the spring of 1994 a promising young golfer, Jason Auramenko won the Vancouver
City Amateur Championship at the age of 22. That summer Jason traveled to
Toronto in order to pursue a victory at the Canadian Amateur Championship.
Unfortunately, while in Toronto preparing for the tournament, Jason suddenly
passed away.
Golf was Jasons life. He had dedicated a great deal of time to excel at the
game that he loved so much. While he was not able to realize all his dreams,
golf provided him with the same invaluable lessons in life that if provides
thousands of young men and women.
The Jason Auramenko Memorial Golf Fund was set up in the fall of 1994, and
this year marks the eighth year for our fund raising golf tournament.
The major achievements of the fund over the seven years include:
Support for Junior Golf Program in Burnaby by subsidizing green fees (first
three years)
Sponsorship of the Zone 4 Junior Championship for the Jason Auramenko Memorial
Trophy
The Jason Auramenko Memorial golf Scholarship set up at Simon Fraser University,
awarding an annual golf scholarship to a member of the SFU mens golf team.
This years fund raising golf tournament has been postponed for a year however
it is planned to be held again in 2004.
